What are the Requirements
Documents may be used for formal, business, or personal purposes. However, a document must be issued by an official authority, frequently on letterheads or with a stamp and signature, in order to be legally valid. If the document is issued by a foreign agency and is meant to be filed within the United Arab Emirates, it must include attestations. In these situations, the documents should have the attestation of the issuing country’s Foreign Affairs Department, the UAE embassy’s stamp and signature there, or the issuing country’s Consulate inside the United Arab Emirates, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ stamp and signature in the United Arab Emirates.
In a similar vein, a document issued within the United Arab Emirates that is intended to be transferred abroad for official purposes must be attested by both the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy of the relevant nation. In the majority of countries, the attestation agencies authorized by governments to certify the authenticity of a document are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies, Consulates, and the Notary Public.
The licensing body that oversees and authorizes legal translators’ work is the Ministry of Judiciary (MoJ).
